Spring Hiking around Green Bay

Green Bay Hiking Destinations

It doesn’t matter if you’ve hiked these trails many times before, or if you’re a newcomer to Green Bay.  The best of the hiking trails can still find ways to surprise you at every turn, and can be a wonderful and relaxing way to spend a day in Green Bay.  If scenic beauty is what drives you outdoors onto local hiking trails, then you won’t want to miss the 920 pristine acres along the Bay of Green Bay found at Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve.  You’ll walk amongst the 9 miles of trails through the forests, meadows and wetlands that are home to wide variety of waterfowl, wildlife, and plant species.  Another popular place for hikers along the bay is Bay Shore Park, where you’ll find breathtaking views out over the bay from atop the beautiful Niagara Escarpment.  This beautiful geological feature is a remnant of the lands created 400 million years ago by an ancient sea.

Green Bay hikingIf you’re up for a little bit more of a challenge, the popular hiking destinations in Green Bay include the Reforestation Camp, with its 1,600 acres and miles of trails, including the Oaks Trail marked for advanced hikers, and Neshota Park‘s steeply sloped valleys, and wooded hills.  Two wonderful multi-use trails that are perfect for the casual walker are the Mountain-Bay Trail, and the Fox River State Recreational Trail, which is located just steps from our Green Bay Bed and Breakefast. Both recreational trails are part of the Rails to Trail program, and are wonderful ways to glimpse the beauty and serenity of the Greater Green Bay region.  No matter which trails you choose to explore, a weekend spent with us in Green Bay is sure to leave you relaxed and rejuvenated.
