Discovering Green Bay Art

One of the gems of the Green Bay Arts community is the ARTgarage.  The ARTgarage is a space unique to the community of Green Bay, and is a place to both discover and explore the world of art. The ARTgarage, which exists today in The Cannery on Olde Main, is itself a historic treasure of Green Bay.  This classic building is an important piece of the redevelopment of this portion of historic Green Bay, and features beautiful Cream City brick walls, high wooden ceilings, and a cracked and stained cement floor.  There can be no better home for the artists of Green Bay.  Inside the ARTgarage, you’ll find a wonderful variety of gallery exhibits, which change on a monthly basis. In addition to these beautiful displays, artists themselves rent space in the Front Gallery for a minimal fee and commission on sales, ensuring that guests will have access to the finest local art Green Bay has to offer.  In the heart of the ARTgarage space are several artist studios, where local artists are hard at work on their latest creations.  If you’re looking for a hands-on experience, you may want to check out the wonderful classes and workshops offered by the ARTgarage.

Green Bay Art SceneIf your idea of a fun night out is dinner and a show, then Green Bay’s performing arts won’t disaappoint.  Musicians and comedians take the stage at the beautiful turn-of-the-century style Meyer Theater.  In addition to a variety of live performances, the Meyer Theater is also home to Let Me Be Frank Productions, which is a fun locally produced musical variety show sure to entertain.  The larger Weidener Center is a great place to catch a variety of acts, from Broadway shows and comedies, to orchestras and pop acts. And of course, there’s Green Bay’s largest venue, the Resch Center, which hosts big-name touring acts that travel across the country.  In March, you’ll also be able to enjoy the Green Bay Film Festival, where you can watch a variety of films, including Wisconsin-made films, and even meet filmmakers.  No matter how you choose to enjoy your time in Green Bay, making Green Bay Art a part of your trip will serve to make your experience both unique and memorable.  To begin your artistic journey, book your room at our Green Bay Bed and Breakfast today.
