ArtStreet Gets Underway in Green Bay

ArtStreet, now in its 34th year, is a wonderful way to experience the vibrant and artistic community of Green Bay.  This year, the event takes place from August 28-30th.  This exciting arts event brings the art of over 200 local and regional artists out of the studios, galleries and museums and onto the streets of Green Bay.  The works of art exhibited at this wonderful event showcase various media forms including basketry, ceramics, fiber art, glass, graphic art, jewelry, metalsmithing, painting, paper art, photography, sculpture and woodwork.  Not only will you be able to browse these incredible works of art, but you’ll be able to speak with artists and learn about their creative process, and of course purchase your favorite original works of art to take home.  A few of the artistic demonstrations that will take place throughout the weekend include Angie Bougie of Fired Earth Pottery, a wood turning demonstration provided by the NWTC Artisan & Business Center, Nicholas Rinehard of Nicholas Rinehard Studios, and so much more.

In addition to the above, the ArtStreet event in Green Bay will feature an art raffle, where 100 original works of art donated by Artstreet vendors are raffled off to lucky winners.  There will be a variety of performing arts, including music, dance, theatrical and literary performances on event stages.  There will also be an Art of Container Gardening Contest, a Sanimax Recycle Artstreet display, a fantastic book garden featuring book signings and stage readings with local fiction and non-fiction authors, and of course the Young Artisan’s event, which gives local budding artists the chance to experience an art fair alongside the seasoned art professionals who participate in Artstreet.  All said, ArtStreet is a wonderful community affair that serves to enrich Green Bay’s rich arts scene, and is an event you don’t want to miss.  Hurry and book your last minute deal at our historic Green Bay Bed and Breakfast today.
