Green Bay Holiday Activities
The Green Bay holiday season kicks off on November 20th, with the symbolic lighting of the peace tree. The Peace Tree Lighting is a longtime tradition, started many years ago in response to the Vietnam War. Today, this beautiful tradition includes the joyous singing of holiday music, and the reading of peace essays written by local children. Keep the festivities going on November 22nd, when the holiday season begins in Broadway with its annual Lighting Ceremony On Broadway. This fun event features old fashioned holiday fun including free hayrides, S’mores and plenty of family fun activities. Once these magical trees are illuminated, step into the many Broadway stores for a jump on holiday shopping. The next day, step out for some old-fashioned holiday fun with the The 30th Annual AT&T Green Bay Holiday Parade. Do you love admiring the brilliant sparkle of Christmas lights, but you aren’t sure where to find the best displays? Then Green Bay has just the thing for you! Get into your best Green Bay holiday spirit, when you join us on a free Green Bay Metro bus as we tour the holiday lights and window displays in the Downtown, Olde Main and Broadway Districts. This year, the fun will happen on December 5th, and features a special stop that Astor House guests will enjoy; viewing the beautiful luminaries in the Astor Park Neighborhood. If you want to take your family out for a night of holiday fun, then consider a night at the Meyer Theater seeing A Frank’s Christmas. This charming Christmas story is based on the figurines in the Prange Department Store windows coming to life.
As you can see, there is so much old-fashioned fun to be had when you spend time in Green Bay for the holidays. We look forward to sharing a Green Bay holiday season with you, and helping you to create memories that will last a lifetime.
