Sports are Year-Round in Green Bay

Green Bay SportsGreen Bay is a legendary sports town, perhaps most notable for it’s football team, the Green Bay Packers.  Not only does our legendary football team have a special connection with it’s community and fans, but it’s stadium, Lambeau Field, is one of the most storied stadiums in the country, and our team is the only team in the NFL to be owned directly by the fans.  There is plenty to do and see in Green Bay if your a Packer’s fan, even when it’s not football season here.  However, Green Bay also has other exciting year-round sports worth mentioning, including hockey, baseball, and basketball.  Book your room at our historic Green Bay Bed and Breakfast today, and enjoy an exciting night of sports while you’re in town!

Though the Packers don’t start up again until August, fans in town before then can enjoy a tour of Lambeau Field itself or explore the Packers Hall of Fame.  True enthusiasts may want to walk the Oneida Nation Walk of Legends or the Packers Heritage Trail, both self-guided tours for a Packer’s history buff.  Of course, don’t forget to stock up on your green and gold at the Green Bay Packers Pro Shop.  In the meantime, while you wait for the Packers to start up again, fans can get their fix with indoor arena football.  The Green Bay Blizzard play in the premier Indoor Football League at the Resch Center from March to August.  Also happening in Green Bay this upcoming weekend is the Girls State Basketball Tournament, which is in Green Bay for the third year in a row.

Green Bay SportsThough the Hockey season is just ending for the St. Norbert’s College Green Knights, you can still catch a Green Bay Gambler’s game at the Resch Center. This great team has captured 2 Junior A National Championships, 5 Anderson Cups, 4 Clark Cups, and 7 USHL Eastern Division Titles.  Games continue through April, and make for an exciting sports night in Green Bay.  Though it’s not always thought of as an organized sport, Green Bay is a great town for runners.  In May, the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon draws runners from all over the country, and has been called one of the top 10 most fun events for runners by Runner’s World.  Also, in June, Green Bay attracts over 16,000 runners to one of the largest 10K’s in the country, the Bellin Run.  Our Bed and Breakfast has historic ties to the Bellin Family, and is a popular place for people to stay when they’re in town for the race.  Looking further into the summer, American’s favorite pasttime comes to Green Bay with the Green Bay Bullfrogs, part of the summer collegiate Baseball League.  That brings us full circle back to August, when the Packer’s kick off their 2016 season with their Training Camp.  In the middle of Packer season, nights can be filled with a little Green Bay Phoenix Basketball at the Resch, or some hockey at Cornerstone Community Ice Center with the St. Norbert College Green Knights.  No matter what interests you most, Green Bay is a wonderful place to enjoy sports throughout the year.  We urge you to plan ahead, though, as tickets and rooms go fast.  Book your room at our historic Green Bay Bed and Breakfast today.
