As far as sandy beaches, there are few that can compete with Kohler-Andrae State Park. Its stunning sand dunes, miles of golden sandy beach, and clear blue water make this beach a popular destination for both locals and visitors. It also has unique wetlands with many rare plants, some of which are only found along the shores of the Great Lakes. This park is south east of Green Bay near Sheboygan. If you’re looking for more places to visit, Cave Point and Whitefish Bay Dunes in Door County is another gem worth the drive. The rocky cliffs of the shoreline have underwater caves that are said to have ancient drawings. This is not only a popular beach but also known for scuba diving and kayaking. Few things beat a picnic on the beach.  The best place to start shopping for delicious ingredients to add to your picnic basket is one of the summer farmers markets. The market on Broadway is open every Wednesday, and features over 150 vendors. There are two other markets on Thursdays, one at the Oneida Nation and another one at Green Bay Plaza. All three markets offer great local produce, crafters, and entertainment. You will likely find a nice picnic basket at the market, and all the picnic food including wine, bread, cheese, and fruits to fill it. If you want to spend more time on the beach, there are several excellent cafes and deli in town. You’ll find great sandwiches, flatbreads, wraps, salads, and baked goods to take with you.
